MEDICAL DISCOVERY SERIES

Special guest speaker Dr. Katie Shahwan visited HEAL students today to guide them through a series of medical-related activities. Under the guidance of Dr. Katie, students learned complicated suturing techniques on pigs legs in teams of two, after mastering one, students moved on to more advanced sutures. Afterwards, students participated in Hematology 101, where they advanced their phlebotomy and diagnostic skills by analyzing blood smears. Check out these photos below of our future surgeons!
