Blood Spatter Lab

As part of their lecture series at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, students participated in an activity on reading blood spatter. In the lab, students used a paint mixture resembling blood to test the appearance of blood droplets on a surface from different heights, angles, and directions. They noted the shape and size of the spatters, as well as which directions the tails faced. They can use information like this in the field to determine where and how a victim was injured.
